This explains what InstaWizard collects, why, and what happens to it. It describes what the
app actually does, not what a template says it might.
InstaWizard uses Android's Accessibility Service. That permission lets it read what is
on your screen and tap and swipe for you. It is what makes the app work. It is also a powerful
permission, and you should understand what we do with it — that is what section 2 is for.
1. What we collect
What
Why
Email address
Your account, signing in, and support replies.
An account id and, optionally, a Discord name
Identifying your account and referrals.
Device identifier, screen size, app version
One trial per device, and working out why the app misbehaves on a particular phone.
Last active time, which screen you are on
Support, and knowing whether the app is being used.
Your filter settings and store keywords
They are the settings; they restore when you sign in on another phone.
Counts of batches caught and totals earned as read from the screen
Your stats and the leaderboard.
Messages you send to support
Answering you.
Crash reports and basic analytics
Finding and fixing faults. Provided by Google Firebase.
When you download the app from this website: your IP address, the approximate city and country it maps to, your browser and operating system, and which button you tapped
Knowing whether downloads actually reach people, and where they fail. A large share of visits arrive inside Facebook’s or Instagram’s built-in browser, which cannot save a file at all — this is how we can see that happening and fix it. Recorded when you tap a download button, not while you read the site.
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, precise GPS location, contacts, photos, or the
contents of any other app.
2. What the Accessibility Service reads, and what leaves your phone
While it is switched on and you are in the Instacart Shopper app, InstaWizard reads the text
of the batch screen — pay, number of orders, distance, item and unit counts, and the store name
and address — and compares it against your filters. Almost all of this happens on your phone and
is never sent anywhere.
Two things are exceptions, and you should know about both:
Diagnostics. When diagnostic collection is on for your account, the app uploads the
text of batch offers it evaluated, together with the filter settings in force at the time,
so faults can be investigated and so we can learn which stores appear in real batches.
Diagnostic collection is currently switched on for all accounts while we build the
store-filtering feature. It is limited to a few hundred records per account per day and
can be switched off centrally.
Screen-reading failures. If the app cannot understand the batch screen — usually
because Instacart changed its layout — it uploads the text of that screen so the app can
be repaired. This only happens when something is wrong.
Both may include a store name and street address as shown in the batch. Neither includes
your personal address, your customers' details, or anything from outside the Instacart batch
screen.
3. What we never do
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
We do not read your messages, email, banking apps, or anything outside the Instacart
batch screen.
We do not have your Instacart password. The app never asks for it and could not use it.
We do not see your card details. Payment is handled by Whop.
4. Who else is involved
Google Firebase — hosts the database, sign-in, crash reporting and analytics. Data
is stored on Google's servers in the United States.
Whop — takes the payment and holds the billing relationship. They have their own
privacy policy.
Nobody else. There is no advertising network and no third-party tracker in this app.
5. How long it is kept
Account details are kept while your account exists.
Diagnostic records and screen-reading failures are working data and are deleted once they
have served their purpose.
Support conversations are kept so we can pick up where we left off, and cleared
periodically.
6. Your choices
Turn it off. Switching the Accessibility Service off in Android settings stops all
screen reading immediately. The app cannot work without it, but it is your switch.
Ask for your data. Email us and we will tell you what is held against your account.
Ask us to delete it. Email us and we will delete your account and its records,
other than anything we must keep for payment or tax records.
7. Children
InstaWizard is for adults working as delivery shoppers. It is not for anyone under 18, and we
do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
